You Won eBay Item: 3 packs Gouda's Gilde Stroopwafels 10/box Dutch Food

yessssh! these things are the most amazingly delicious cookies ever. i think my mom first discovered them at jason's market in taiwan (where they were grossly overpriced like all the imported items at jason's). she used to limit us to have half a cookie maybe once a week with a cup of afternoon tea. these gouda's gilde stroopwafels are HANDCRAFTED in holland, in the Gouda region where the cheese comes from and this brand is like 20% bigger than regular stroopwafels and is the PREMIUM stuff. 

i re-discovered stroopwafel at the organic market at cleveland park-- an alternative version with canadian maple syrup. which taste pretty awesome as well, but not so great, since i have no scruples as to how many of these i scarf down a day. and as apparent with the title i have decended into buying in bulk online. so if you like stroopwafel, holla and i will share.

we're in the heat of summer already!

so i am back in dc, woot. and what better to welcome me back than a sunday of snow. ergh i can just imagine dave and the guys back in orlando chillen by the pool in 80 degree weather. i had to dig my car out of the snow, fortunately this random guy stopped by and helped me. it took me an hour to get up to amc this morning, i left early so i got there on time, yay. i have missed 3 or 4 sundays because of my deployment, so it was encouraging coming back and receiving the message and seeing everyone.

elise & i ate so much while we were on deployment because of per diem. i think whenever we had dinner with the guys, they were very impressed with our ability to put it all away. so i decided that i needed to diet when i came back, but i am soooooooo hungry now.  i wanna cook some soon doobu to eat.hmph

back to the snow, it is really pretty though and i had fun throwing snowballs at the trees by myself. and it's so powdery now, just perfect slam* when it hits

i got a promotion! woot, well...it's not really, because i'm still at the same band level. but i got upped a level for my Professional Development Framework (pdf). mwhahaha, excellent! and i'm getting Taiwanese food this weekend, super hella exciting!!
